Lovely Letters // A Snail Mail Exchange

As a kid, you may have been forced into having a pen pal in the second grade like I did. The second we were no longer being graded on our participation, I’m pretty sure both my pen pal and I lost interest and the letters came to a crashing halt.

Tired of receiving only bills and advertisements from Macys, I somehow stumbled across Lovely Letters, which is a snail mail exchange hosted by the lovely Esther of Local Adventurer. Signing up was quick and painless, and was assigned to the lovely Ashley from Happy Pretty Sweet. We’ve sent countless e-mails back and forth, exchanged post cards (which proved to be difficult for both of us to find in the first place!) and eventually a package, which we were supposed to stay under $7. Side note: $7 in the Bay Area is nearly impossible to abide by, so I threw the budget out the window and just gathered things that represented Summer Vacation.

Ashley is a self-proclaimed lover of Jane Austen novels and is looking forward to fall as much as I am. I had to laugh: when I opened the package she sent me, it was exactly what I originally  had planned on sending her. Though we both sent each other recipes! If you'd like to see what I sent her, it's right here.

*not pictured is a chapstick that the hubbys cat ran off with immediately and a recipe, which is currently beside the oven being put to good use.

If you have spare time and love getting and exchanging mail, consider signing up the next time signups are open and also check out Ashley over at Happy Pretty Sweet.
